Was very excited when Mk12 asked me to be apart of their team for The Kite Runner. Spent a good month working out Ben Radatz's beautifully designed custom type faces for the title sequence. An Intensive process between softwares was developed in order to animate the calligraphy appropraitly.

About. Bio




Colin Hess is a scribbler. Finds a fondness with spicy food and mustard. Sometimes showers. Sometimes does not -- Depends on the state of things around him. Believes someone else has produced every original idea he has ever had immediately after he's finished thinking about it. He grew up in Kansas City, a product of suburbia and with his extraneous amounts of spare time grew a fascination towards digital mediums because of there abilities to augment reality. Classically trained on the piano and trumpet, Colin remains passionate about music with a deep interest in its visual represention. He hopes that one day a floating plasama-like substance will exist allowing him to create and display a visual controlled through music. He currently lives and works in NYC where he has served clients such as Pepsi, Dell, Nintendo, Motorola, Swatch, HBO, SciFi, GE, MTV, USA, Renault, and CBS.
